Pretty Wise
Me and my South African housemate were just chatting the other day about how music can be so powerful and has the ability to change moods in an instant. These three chunes have been summing up the mood in our house for the past two weeks or so.
The 1st one is a novelty song which with luck the Irish public will vote their number 1 this Christmas and not the usual X-factor winner dross, by some loser who we'll all have forgotten about by this time next year..fuck your Honda Civic I've a horse outside, the song is 100% witty Irish and all the better for it pal!
The second is a group introduced to me by Stu (my SA housemate), the group is called Die Antwoord and they hail from South Africa. He told me that they mix up their music between piss takes and serious songs..Enter the Ninja is definitely a serious tune and a deadly one at that. A mix of English & Afrikaans lyrics with a dirty strong SA accent and a flow like Eminem in his prime would have to be a winner.
And last but no least is good ol' Wiley 'Take That' a song that has accompanied on our journeys to Toll every day without fail since we're stuck with only a Ministry of Sound cd for the car. Not complaining though he tore up Sterosonic and it's a serious CHUNE to get in the mood for cardboard boxes.
PS: Fair play to Sir Alex for surpassing Sir Matt Busby as the club’s longest-serving manager. ABSOLUTE LEGEND!!
