Beware Of The Special Ones

Due to bloody stupid exams & study, I haven't had time to add anything new. However, I found this at the back of one of my A4's, can't remember when exactly i wrote it.

It seems the day of model professional football players just being that, are over. Nowadays it seems you have to be more than a football player, and become something else, a kind of alter-ego. Players more than ever are becoming obsessed with their image, and in Ronaldo & Drogba's case, the field of amateur dramatics. Setting up an image of how they should be perceived by the media and public. Players like the aforementioned Ronaldo & Drogba, Totti, Cassano, Beckham etc.

The prime example being Goldenballs aka David Beckham, who long ago ceased being an actual footballer, descending into the one man media circus he is today. Managers to are not immune to the posturing of some modern day footballers. Prime example No. 2 - Jose Mourinho, the self-appointed 'Special One'. Undoubtfully a brilliant tactican and master of man management, however, he often lets his immense ego get in the way of his day job. Famously once claiming he was: "a star in his own movie".

It seems these men, are their own top publicists, seemingly not happy unless they are making headlines.
